Sandhill
4-H Conservation Camp
About the Camp Sandhill Conservation Camp is located in beautiful, Scenic McCreary County, Kentucky, and just minutes from Cumberland Falls, Natural Arch, Yahoo Falls, Historic Stearns, KY, Blue Heron Mining Camp, Barthell Coal Camp, the Big South Fork Scenic Railway, and many other natural and historic attractions. The camp also features a trail head entrance for horseback riders and is surrounded by US Forest Service property(Daniel Boone National Forest). The camp consists of 27 acres just about 4 1/2 miles east of the US Highway 27-KY 700 intersection in Whitley City. Forty(40) campsites are present with hook ups for recreational vehicles(RVs), including water and electric(20 & 30 amps currently...upgrades are planned for the 2009 season). There are also clean restrooms on site, along with a shower house, kitchen facilities, air conditioned multi-purpose room, dump station, large open fields and shelter houses. The camping area also includes a shelter, grilling facilities and playground equipment. Reservations are required for use of the shelter houses. Campsites(both primitive and RV) are on a first come, first served basis. Reservations may be required during special event weekends. shelter, lower shelter, and community building $50 per day(10am-10pm) or
$35- 1/2 day(10am-4pm or 4pm-10pm) Primitive Campsites are available for $7 per day or $45 per week(7 days, 6 nights). All campsite fees also include access to the shower house and restrooms.
